Featuring split-elevons for active yaw control

Introducing, the RIESENFLUZEUG - an 8ft flying wing with large bays for batteries and electronics. This wing is made of many segments that must be glued together with medium CA. Do not skimp out on CA because this may cause expanding cracks in the seams.

The Wing segments (everything in the wings folder except the split elevons) are printed with the provided Vase mode cura profile.
The split elevon and pod are printed with the retraction cura profile.

HIGHLY RECCOMENDED TO PRINT THIS PLANE WITH POLYMAKER POLYLITE PREFOAMED

By far the most Challenging part to print in and assemble is the split elevons, they come in 9 pieces per side, 4 for the bottom and 5 for the top. It is recommended to print one side at a time, too many pieces on the bed at once can cause problems.

There will be an optional “no split elevon” wing, but this wing has not been as thoroughly tested, so use at your own risk.

You will need 5mm M3 Brass inserts for the Pod, both for the wing locks and the pod lid. A soldering iron will be used to poke holes in the bottom of Wing A 1&2, in the designated/marked screw holes. This is where the m3 screws will enter and latch onto the wing locks.

A 0.8m length 4mm carbon rod is used for the control surface axel. A 1m long 6mm carbon rod is used for the main wing spar. And 1x 10mm & 1x 12mm carbon tube for the pod wing joint.
